Updates for Wright Works 2007 Applications

These downloadable installation images will only work if you have an installed version of the application on your system. 

Who needs them

These updates are for you if you are

	using Office/Word 12
	using Vista (with any version of Office/Word)

So if you are using Windows XP and Word 2003, these updates are nice but not necessary.

What they fix

Some users who are running Windows Vista (particularly Home and Home Premium) were getting errors when starting a new project.

This update should fix that.  For those interested:  the problem has to do with the new security measures in Vista.  Microsoft disabled the ability of a Word add-on to write to the registry and so saving settings resulted in an error.  These updated templates use a new method of saving settings.

What they add

The only new feature is a revised interface for Word 12. 

In addition to the legacy toolbars and menus -- available on the Add-ins tab -- BookWright and ScriptWright now have customized Ribbons.  For instance:

If you are using Word 12 and install these updates, your main template will now be in the Word 12 template format.  They will have the DOTX extension.

ScriptWright.dot will be replaced with ScriptWright.dotx

BookWright.dot will be replaced with BookWright.dotx

Note:  if you have previously created documents based on the older .DOT templates, you will have to manually re-attach the new template to the document.   Here are instructions on how to attach a template.  Alternatively, you can install CheckTemplate and the proper template will be attached automatically.

Legacy Updates

These updates remain available for older releases of ScriptWright and BookWright.
